If he can stay off the injured reserve list, Justin Duchsherer can shore up the pitching rotation for the Baltimore Orioles. Duchsherer, who seemed forever on the DL in his years with the Oakland Athletics, signed with the Orioles this week.
I never saw Duchsherer pitch at the Coliseum, but he made many a quality start for the Athletics when he was healthy. Any such starts he can give the O’s will be a bonus in the season ahead.
It’s been a long time since the Orioles made the playoffs (1997) and a long, long time since they won a World Series (1983).
I’d love to see the Orioles make a run in the American League East. But it’s going to take a lot more than Justin Duchscherer for that to happen.
I wonder if Brooks Robinson would consider dusting off his cleats?
